Advanced Therapeutic Services

At OM Home, every session is designed with intention. This is not one-size-fits-all massage, and it is not simply about pressure. My work blends advanced therapeutic training, clinical reasoning, and an intuitive hands-on approach to help address pain, restriction, tension, stress, and the patterns that keep the body from functioning at its best.

With training in orthopedic, sports, medical-style massage, prenatal care, soft tissue techniques, assisted stretching, and restorative wellness modalities, each session is customized to your body and your goals. Whether you are seeking pain relief, improved mobility, recovery support, prenatal care, or deep restoration, your treatment is thoughtfully tailored to what you need most.

What Makes This Work Different

Many massages focus only on relaxation or general muscle tension. While that can be beneficial, advanced therapeutic bodywork goes further. It is more focused, more intentional, and guided by a deeper understanding of how pain, posture, movement, injury history, and soft tissue restrictions affect the body.

Because of my training in orthopedic, sports, and medical-style massage, I am able to work more specifically with the tissues and movement patterns contributing to discomfort. That means sessions can be adapted for chronic tension, repetitive strain, mobility limitations, athletic recovery, prenatal changes, or areas that feel persistently tight, inflamed, or stuck.

The goal is not just temporary relief. The goal is to help you feel better, move better, and experience lasting change.

Core Therapeutic Modalities

Medical Massage

Medical massage is a focused, outcome-based form of bodywork designed to address specific pain patterns, dysfunction, injuries, and movement restrictions. Rather than offering a general full-body routine, medical massage is tailored to the individual’s symptoms, history, and goals.

This work is especially valuable for clients dealing with chronic tightness, postural strain, nerve irritation, injury recovery, repetitive use patterns, or unresolved muscular pain. Sessions are intentional and precise, using the techniques that best support the body’s healing and function.

Best for: chronic pain, injury support, neck and back tension, postural imbalance, mobility restrictions, recurring tightness

Graston Technique

Graston is an advanced soft tissue technique that uses specialized instruments to detect and treat areas of restriction, scar tissue, fascial adhesion, and chronic tension within the muscles and connective tissue.

This modality can be especially helpful for overuse patterns, old injuries, stubborn adhesions, and areas that feel dense or resistant to change. The instruments allow for a precise approach that can help improve tissue quality, restore mobility, and reduce discomfort.

Graston is often integrated into a treatment plan when tissue feels stuck, thickened, or limited in movement.

Best for: old injuries, scar tissue, repetitive strain, limited range of motion, dense or stubborn tension

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy is a focused method used to release hypersensitive knots and tight bands within the muscles that can cause local pain or referral patterns into other areas of the body.

Rather than applying broad pressure everywhere, this work targets specific points that may be contributing to headaches, neck and shoulder pain, hip discomfort, glute pain, jaw tension, or recurring muscular tightness. By applying intentional pressure and release techniques, trigger point therapy can help reduce guarding, improve circulation, and restore more natural movement.

This is one of the ways advanced therapeutic massage differs from standard massage — it is about locating the source, not just treating the symptoms generally.

Best for: stubborn knots, headaches, neck and shoulder tension, hip and glute pain, referred pain patterns

Assisted Stretching — Mattes Method

Assisted stretching using the Mattes Method is a precise, movement-based approach designed to improve flexibility, mobility, and functional range of motion without forcing the body.

This method uses short, controlled stretches coordinated with movement and breath to help the body release tension more effectively. Because the stretches are brief and specific, the body is less likely to resist, making the work feel both supportive and effective.

This modality is ideal for clients who feel stiff, compressed, athletic, posturally restricted, or limited in certain movement patterns. It can be incorporated into sessions to support recovery, improve mobility, and help the body feel more open and aligned.

Best for: stiffness, mobility limitations, athletic recovery, posture support, reduced flexibility, movement restriction

Fire Cupping

Fire cupping uses glass cups and heat-created suction to lift and decompress the tissue rather than pressing down into it. This creates a very different effect from traditional hands-on pressure and can be especially helpful in areas of congestion, tightness, or fascial restriction.

The lifting action can help improve circulation, encourage tissue release, and relieve deeply held tension. Fire cupping is often used on the back, shoulders, hips, and other areas where the body tends to hold chronic stress or stagnation.

It can be used as part of a therapeutic session to enhance release and recovery. Temporary marks may occur and are a normal response to cupping.

Best for: back and shoulder tension, fascial restriction, muscular congestion, recovery support, chronic tightness

Who This Work Is For

This work is ideal for clients who are looking for more than a basic massage. You may be a good fit if you are experiencing chronic pain, restricted mobility, old injuries, muscular tension that keeps returning, stress held deeply in the body, athletic wear and tear, or the changing needs of pregnancy and postpartum.

It is also for clients who value personalized care — treatment that is thoughtful, skilled, and adapted to what their body actually needs that day.

A More Personalized Approach

No two bodies are the same, and no two sessions should be either. Your treatment may include one modality or a blend of several depending on your goals, how your body presents, and what will create the most effective result.

At OM Home, the intention is always the same: to create a space where therapeutic work and deep care come together so you can leave feeling better in your body, calmer in your nervous system, and more supported in your healing process.
